Macropiper excelsum.
A distinctive large rounded shrub with green branchlets and attractive glossy dark green heart shaped leaves. The spikes of inconspicuous cream flowers are followed by a bright orange fruiting spike. Looks great planted under trees and with other bushy shrubs. Prefers a sheltered shady site, hardy to dry and some frost.
