Spectacular slender tree with deep green long leaves In late spring and summer the tree is covered with honeysuckle-like bright orange-red flowers. Provides nectar for birds. It is hardy to cold but prefers a warm site, sheltered from wind. Needs well drained soil that is moisture retentive, and does not get too dry. Will sucker into a thicket in the right conditions.
