Acer palmatum 'Viridis'
Syn. A. palmatum var dissectum. Small, rounded, deciduous tree with weeping branches. Deeply divided lace like leaves emerge fresh green in the spring. Gorgeous red flowers bloom in pendant racemes in spring before the leaves emerge. Flowers give way to winged samaras. Excellent rich orange Autumn colour. Hardy to cold, though needs a sheltered site with good soil to reach it's full potential.
