Acer japonica 'Aconitifolium'
Medium, rounded, deciduous tree with dense, arching branching. Deeply divided fern like leaves emerge deep green in the spring. Gorgeous red flowers bloom in pendant racemes in spring before the leaves emerge. Flowers give way to winged samaras. Excellent rich orange to red Autumn colour. Hardy to cold, though needs a sheltered site with good soil to reach it's full potential.
