Olea europaea 'Leccino'
An attractive small tree with narrow, oblong, silvery-grey foliage. Tiny white flowers are produced in summer followed by edible, green olives turning black when ripe. Ideal in containers or the garden and responds well to shaping. Ideal for specimen planting, hedging, and topiary. Tolerant of very poor soils, provided they are well drained. Best fruiting will occur in a moist fertile loam. Prune regularly to encourage fresh bushy growth, If growing for the fruit then prune after fruit collection. Frost hardy. This cultivar is known for the production of good Italian olive oil.
