Zephranthus candida

Bulbous perennial, native to the Rio de la Plata region of South America. Crocus-like white flowers, sometimes blushed with pink, above a tuft of grass-like, green leaves. Blooms appears in late summer to early autumn. Winter hardy best in moist, organically rich, well-drained soils in full sun. Best performance is in full sun. After flowering, plants go dormant. Plants also grow well in pots or containers which should also be overwintered in cool, frost-free locations with just enough moisture to keep the soils from totally drying out. Avoid heavy frost.
