Salvia xjamensis 'Riverton Red'
Small erect shrub with aromatic, ovate dark green leaves and terminal racemes of two-lipped, velvety red flowers over a long period in summer and autumn. Best in a sunny site, in good garden soil. Avoid very dry sites. Trim in early spring to maintain its shape. Hardy. Selected and named at Marshwood Gardens in Invercargill.
