Pittosporum
A twiggy bushy small tree which develops a columnar habit, It is clothed to the ground with zig-zaging branchlets when a juvenile and sub-adult. Develops small green rounded leaves as an adult. Single pink night-scented flowers. Avoid very dry sites, hardy to cold. Found naturally in montane streamsides and forest margins in the North Island. A nationally vulnerable plant due to the adult plants being browsed on by possums.
