Olearia avicenniaefolia
A large shrub with a spreading habit. Branchlets are covered with white tomentum. Large oblong dull green leaves with a dense white tomentum underneath. The leaves develop a dull sheen with age. Numerous flowers heads of small white densely packed sweetly scented flowers in late summer and autumn. Occurs naturally in the South and Stewart Island, sea-level to 900 mt, coastal to montane shrubland and on rocky banks. Very hardy and will tolerate dry conditions.
