Hosta 'June'
Long-lived herbaceous perennial grown for the mounds of sumptuous foliage. Large entire oval leaves are produced from the base of the plant in spring. The leaves are blue grey with splashes of yellow and green. The spikes of the lily-like flowers are lavander, these appear in summer. Hostas will grow in most soils. In the wild they are from misty, high humidity areas. In our gardens they seem to cope with dry conditions if kept in semi-shade with well composted soil. The leaves will be larger and more lush in heavier shade, however the more light they have the better they will flower.
