Viburnum sargentii 'Onondaga'
Hardy traditional shrub which develops a thicket of stems. The 3-lobed leaves emerge velvety dark maroon then go dark green with a maroon tinge, develops lovely autumn colours. Flower buds are maroon-red, opening creamy-white with a trace of pink in flat topped clusters of flowers. Very showy. smother the shrub in late spring. Will occasionally develop red berries. Very hardy to cold. Avoid very hot and sunny sites. Prefers moist soils.
