CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Robust spreading shrub. The stout branches are covered with greyish hairs. The large, leathery oblong leaves are crowded towards the ends of the branches, green and shiny on top, the undersurface is clad with a thick white tomentum. In spring it has large white daisy-like flowers with yellow centres. It ocurs naturally in Southern Marlborough to north Canterbury, often seen clinging to the coastal cliffs. Sealevel to 1200m. It needs well drained soil and plenty of sunlight, never crowd out with other plants.
