Thryptomene calycina.
Delightful compact shrub with arching branches and dense glossy green aromatic leaves. Masses of pink buds open to white, starry, scalloped flowers with a red eye throughout spring. Excellent for floral work. Best in sun or semi-shade, in a sheltered site. Needs soil with good drainage. Hardy to cold, but avoid heavy frost. Grows naturally on rocky mountain slopes in Victoria, Australia.
