Ribes laurifolium
Lovely shrub, often found in older gardens. Low growing branches are covered with evergreen glossy oval leaves which are mid-green. In winter and spring the branches have clusters of green-yellow flowers. These can be followed by edible black berries. Thin out older flowering stems occasionally, as it will flower on one year old wood. Very hardy, needs well drained soil, will tolerate shade. Very hardy if sheltered from wind.
