Podocarpus nivalis.
Low growing, almost prostrate shrub found in sub alpine parts of New Zealand, although can grow at low altitude as well. It has wide spreading branches which often form roots at the tips, thus helping to stabilise steep alpine slopes.It has small leathery olive-green leaves and red berries in the autumn. Very hardy, avoid very dry sites.
