CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
A large shrub with a bushy habit. Branchlets are covered with brownish tomentum. Leaves are very large for this species, ovate-oblong, mid to light green with buff coloured tomentum underneath. Leaf edges are wavy. Numerous flower heads with creamy-white densely packed fragrant flowers in late summer and autumn. Occurs naturally in the North and South Islands, north of Oamaru, in coastal lowland to near montane scrubland and forest margins. Sea-level to 450 m. Very hardy and will tolerate dry conditions. Good in coastal and exposed conditions. Makes an excellent hedging plant.
