Olearia cheesemanii.
A medium shrub with a bushy habit. Branches have flaky bark. Branchlets are covered with greyish-white tomentum. Large linear dark green and shining leaves with a dense white tomentum underneath. Numerous flower heads up to 20 cm across of white densely packed flowers in spring. Occurs naturally in the North and South Islands, frequently grows along rocky stream banks and gorges. Very hardy and will tolerate dry conditions.
