Metrosideros xsub-tomentosa 'Mistral'
A vigorous, erect growing tree, which is a natural hybrid between Northern rata and Pohutukawa, selected by Graeme Platt on the Coromandal. It has dark green leaves on strongly erect branches. Clusters of deep scarlet flowers appear over December and January. Very hardy to coastal and exposed conditions. Protect from frost when young.
