Superior evergreen groundcover with bright apple-green prickly foliage with a small white band under the leaf. It has a widely spreading habit. The new growth emerges bright green. Lovely when planted around boulders or in rock gardens. A reliable plant for extreme climates. Thrives in rocky soils or the sandy gravel. Use on slopes for coverage or erosion control. Plant along retaining walls and curbs, where the creeping foliage will cover year-round. A native of Japan and Russia where it is found on sandy seashores.
