Distinctive NZ native shrub with long spreading branches, covered with small soft light green leaves. Clusters of silky deep red flowers along the branches in winter and spring. These are full of nectar for the native birds. Best to prune lightly after flowering. Will grow in most well drained soils, it will tolerate dry conditions once established.
