Clematis 'Kermesina'
Vigorous scrambler with wine red flowers, anthers contrasting brown. Flower in early summer to early autumn. It needs hard pruning late winter. They are great for enhancing roses and any other shrub. They look good scrambling through the taller perennials. Viticellas are extremely cold hardy and more wind tolerant than the large flowering types, they are resistant to stem-wilt. Viticellas tend to be single stemmed and spindly growing in the first year or two. Thereafter they will grow very strong.
