Ceanothus papillosus 'Roweanus'
Erect rounded evergreen shrub with dense, arching stems holding narrow dark green leaves. Abundant dense heads of red-purple buds open to dark blue flowers clusters in spring. contrast with the dark foliage. Hardy for most conditions, prefers sun and free draining soil, though will tolerate some shade. Good for coastal sites. Annual pruning best to maintain shape.
