Hardy deciduous rhizomatous perennial. Will slowing spread to form a large clump. Large green oval leaves spiral up the stem and appear in spring. Flaming red flowers bloom on stem tips through the summer. Grows in most soil and in dry conditions. Best flowering in a sunny site.
