Calycanthus floridus 'Hartlage Wine'
Interesting deciduous shrub with rich green, slightly glossy leaves and magnolia-like fragrant flowers from early to mid summer on the tips of short spurs with the new growth. The flowers are a rich maroon-red-brown colour. It needs some sun and does best with cool roots and good drainage. May be trimmed after flowering.
