Beaucarnea recurvata
Graceful slow-growing tree which has adapted to the dry conditions of Mexico by storing water in it's swollen base. This tapers to a trunk bearing branches topped with long straplike downward-curving green leaves. May produce feathery panicles of cream flowers. It needs a warm sunny site with protection from frost. Once established it will grow in dry conditions. Excellent as a tub plant in warm conditions. Very interesting sculptural plant.
